Some of the countries represented here have centuries of winemaking tradition but from a European perspective, they're still New World. Style-wise, they're cutting edge, fruit-driven and delicious. Chilean Sauvignon, Aussie Chardonnay and a gooseberry-scented Cape white are all classics in their own right. Same is true of the reds where you have excellent Argentinian Malbec, deeply delicious Aussie Shiraz and of course Merlot from the high hilly vineyards of Chile.
